Lakes Environmental Limited was formed as a Council Controlled Organisation (CCO) in 2007 and is contracted by QLDC to provide and perform a range of regulatory services in the Queenstown Lakes District. As a CCO Lakes Environmental operates on a not for profit basis. The majority of the services provided by Lakes Environmental are funded on a user pays basis, however QLDC does directly fund some public good activities in line with its Revenue and Financing Policy.
Our mission is to contribute to the environmental, economic, social and cultural well being of the communities of the Queenstown Lakes and other Districts through delivery of customer focussed, efficient and cost effective regulatory services.
