Building Control

In the Queenstown Lakes District, the Council have appointed Lakes Environmental to provide all the regulatory services in relation to Building Control. We are a Council Controlled Organisation and operate under delegations from the council. All enquiries, processing of applications for Building Consent, and Inspections of the building work, are undertaken by staff from Lakes Environmental.

Swimming Pools

Consents are required to construct a swimming pool, and there is always a requirement to fence a pool in accordance with the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act 1987. This may include the requirement to obtain a special exemption.
